When I think of Brooklyn, a few names come to mind – Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Jackie Robinson, Paulie Malignaggi, etc., not Natalie Elizabeth Weiss. Weiss, a DJ and composer from Brooklyn, NY, is gaining popularity for her eight week baby DJ classes. Featured on Vice News, ABC News and other media outlets, Weiss formulated the idea for the course after a friend’s child gravitated to an impromptu DJ session performed by her.
Weiss prefers to teach her skill to toddlers because she says its easier due to the plasticity of their minds at such an early age. Held in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn inside a vintage clothing store, the baby DJ classes also help children develop motor and social skills.
The classes, priced at $200 for the eight week course, could potentially create a whole new industry as Natalie Elizabeth Weiss is seeking to go nationwide by franchising the concept. Baby DJ School is now accepting registration for its Summer camp.
