Classic Margarita

This margarita recipe is intended for a tall glass or 16 oz pint glass. The basic ingredients for this recipe include top shelf tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, homemade sour mix and kosher salt and a lime wedge to garnish.


1.5 oz. top shelf Tequila

.5 oz Cointreau

.5 oz lime juice

5 oz homemade sour mix

Kosher salt

2 lime wedges

Mixing instructions

Pour kosher salt liberally onto a small appetizer plate. Take one lime wedge and rub clockwise on the rim of a pint glass. Turn pint glass upside down and place into kosher salt until a nice 1/8 of an inch rim is acquired.

Add tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and homemade sour mix to a cocktail shaker. Shake well, approximately 15-17 times. Pour all contents into rimmed pint glass. Garnish with lime wedge, and serve.
